Their twelve-year relationship has inspired a lot of people throughout the years but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt decided to put an end to it when they broke up in September 2016. The couple’s been married since August 2014 but they started dating since 2005 although it wasn’t officially confirmed until January 2006. They both shared six children together – Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax and twins Vivienne and Knox, three of whom were adopted from Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Vietnam. Their eldest Cambodian son Maddox turns 16 on Aug. 5 and Angie is reportedly throwing a big party for him.
However, it seems that her estranged husband is not part of the guest list and he is reportedly upset about it.
Why is Pops not invited?
An insider close to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt recently told Hollywood Life that Angie is not setting her differences with her estranged husband aside and won’t put the past behind her for their children. “Maddox is going to have a few friends together and [Angie] is arranging everything to make his 16th birthday special and Brad wants to apart of the big day,” the source said. “But is not going to happen, so this birthday will be another reminder to [him] that his family will never be the same.” Apparently, Pitt is disappointed and upset that he is not part of their son’s big day despite his pleading.
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt following an altercation between him and Maddox aboard a private jet. It seems that Angie is still not over the incident that has transpired and doesn’t want her husband to be part of the family ever again. Upon filing for divorce from Pitt, she requested legal and physical custody of their six children but her husband fights for a custody battle.
However, another insider previously told Hollywood Life that the couple decided to keep things amicable between them for the kids. In fact, they have a secret tryst where they all meet as a family, which is not too far from their family home.
Brad Pitt is banned from the entire family affairs
Angelina Jolie appears to be extremely serious with her custody over their six children.
In May 2017, their Vietnamese daughter Shiloh turned 11 and they celebrated in Disneyland alongside her other siblings. Angie, of course, was there but Brad wasn’t. Last month, their twins Vivienne and Knox both turned nine and again, Pops wasn’t there. Nonetheless, many fans are hoping that things between them will be patched out anytime soon because we all know that Brangelina is one of the most inspiring couples in Hollywood. Somehow.
