According to the Rolling Stone, Adam Sandler is to star in a new movie called "The Meyerowitz Stories" which is due to be released on Netflix on this coming October.
The movie centers around a family from New York who comes back together as their father is preparing for an art exhibition.
In a report by Cinema Blend, three siblings return to celebrate their father's art exhibition only to be left navigating their difficult relationship with their father. A snippet of the trailer shows the family singing together and one has to wonder if the power of music will be the thing to bring the family back together.
Actor Dustin Hoffman is playing the father of the family while Sandler takes on the role of one of Hoffman's sons. Other cast members include Emma Thompson, Elizabeth Marvel, and Grace Van Patten. The film was already released at the Cannes Film Festival where it received great reviews, which led to it being picked up by Netflix and released on the streaming website later this year.
The trailer for the movie has been released online
According to the A.V Club, the trailer for "The Meyerowitz Stories" has been released and fans can watch it online. The trailer begins with Adam Sandler's character sitting at a piano singing a song about one of his father's old co-workers. Dustin Hoffman then walks into the room and joins in on the song as the father and son sing about Byron.
The trailer then shows snippets of the characters in the film as Adam Sandler is seen talking to a woman and Ben Stiller looks suspiciously at the camera. A shot is then show of Dustin Hoffman in a tuxedo at the art exhibition with a serious look on his face.
As Hoffman joins in on the song the rest of the Meyerowitz family, join in as well.
Other snippets of the family's antics are shown in the trailer including Hoffman breaking a pool cue and Stiller slapping Sandler's character in the face. The trailer shows a hilarious movie filled with drama as the family comes together to support their father as he reveals his art at the exhibition.
"The Meyerowitz Stories" is due to air on 13 October and fans cannot wait to see the stellar cast in this new comedy.
