The recent trailer for “Supergirl” season 3 showcased how the Girl of Steel felt towards her Kara Danvers persona in the upcoming season. She refers to her earthly identity as a “mistake,” Cinema Blend reported. Well, no one can blame her: she just lost the man of her life as she tried to save the Earth. While everyone thought she is tough for making such a decision, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) is still blaming no one but herself.
Will Kara Zor-El give up Danvers in ‘Supergirl’ Season 3?
In the series, Danvers is the most positive character, and it would be a surprising move if Supergirl chooses to scratch her out from the equation.
Calling her a “mistake” implies as if she would never blend with humans again and that she is done making efforts to please the people of Earth.
If this happens, lots of people will be in pain. First, her sister Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) would probably be shocked with the words Supergirl said. Aside from Alex are her best-friend Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and the rest of the DEO family.
According to Melissa Benoist during San Diego Comic-Con 2017, the said negative attitude started when Kara decided to send Mon-el (Chris Wood) away. In season 2, the 28-year-old actress’ titular role tried finding out the best ways to balance things out. Moreover, Danvers as the National City hero and her job as a reporter in Catco did not make it any easier for her.
As for Benoist, she said, “Now where we pick up in Season 3 still is leaning very heavily on Supergirl. I think that is how she is coping with this grief of sending her boyfriend into a giant chasm in space.” In the end, avid viewers apparently look forward Danvers to return to her old self again.
