English singer and international pop sensation Ed Sheeran (26) has recently appeared in a cameo in the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" on Sunday, reported by CNN. He temporarily deleted his Twitter account without giving any explanation about it to the public.

How could haters make Sheeran erase his Twitter account?

Sheeran's performance was both criticized and praised on social media. The singer's fans speculated that he deleted his Twitter account due to the criticism he received. It is not clear when he deleted his account, but, according to the fans, he could have done it on Monday night.

Before that, Sheeran said that negative comments moved him to take said action.

"I go on it and there's nothing but people saying mean things," he said.

After watching Sheeran's performance on the premiere of Sunday's season, some of his fans got irritated and showed up their dismay towards his role on Twitter. But, his supporters did not agree with his decision of erasing the account. Sheeran still posting his selfies, which he took behind the scenes of Game of Thrones, on Instagram.

Sheeran is not a first star who played a cameo in Game of Thrones

Sheeran is not the first musician to have a cameo on the popular TV series "Game of Thrones." Before him, the members of Coldplay and Snow Patrol also appeared.

He announced that he will also play a character called Brendan in an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons."

This is not the first time he sets himself off from a social media. Last year, he took a break from social media before the release of his third studio album "Divide (÷)" for a whole year. He said he got tired of watching the world through a screen and wanted to see the world and everything that he had missed.

But, this year, he deleted his social account for the first time.

Why Sheeran dislikes Twitter?

During the interview with Today, Sheeran clarified his dislike with Twitter. "I don’t even go on Twitter anymore. I'm just not going to wake up and read something and be like, Well, that’s rude," he said. He also added that he does not want to do that anymore, and out in the world there is much positivity.

He announced that he would not read anything on Twitter, and for one negative stuff, a lot of love out in the world cannot be ignored. "I’m just choosing not to read it,” he said

"One comment ruins your day," he shared. Supporting Sheeran, Lady Gaga wrote, "What an incredibly talented artist! I LOVE ED."
