Paul Wesley joins 'Shadowhunters' Season 2

It seems like vampire fever isn't over yet as we might see a familiar face yet again. Actor-director Paul Wesley is returning back to his supernatural roots with "Shadowhunters" Season 2, Episode 16. The episode will air on July 17, 2017.

Wesley played the role of Stefan Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" from 2009 until 2017.

The long-running drama from The CW skyrocketed the careers of its main cast including him, Ian Somerhalder and former star Nina Dobrev.

In addition to this, the series made a huge impact on Wesley and even opened another opportunity for him. Wesley has directed five episodes throughout its eight-season run and he also worked as one of the producers of the show.

Cast and crew gushes about 'The Vampire Diaries' star

Freeform previously announced the big news last year and since then, people are looking forward to Paul Wesley's latest foray into directing. The cast and crew are also excited for the upcoming episode which will air next week.

Dominic Sherwood (Jace Herondale) only has good words for the "The Vampire Diaries" actor.

According to him, Wesley really gets how things work in their world. Alberto Rosendale (Simon Lewis) also shared Wesley's vast experience with supernatural beings and CGI effects really worked well for the Freeform series. He told TV Guide, "What he needed, what he didn't need and what he could get -- that was the cool thing, he could see what he could push."

Lead actress Katherine McNamara, who plays the role of Clary, just become the envy of all "TVD" fans as she revealed a behind-the-scene photo from the show.

McNamara looked really happy as she snapped a selfie while Wesley had his arm around her. It seems like she cannot help but gush about her experience working with the charming TV vampire. "Welcome to the Shadow World, @paulvedere!" McNamara said, "So great working with you!"
