Watch out, “Twilight” fans! Robert Pattinson, who rose to fame after playing vampire protagonist Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling “Twilight” series, has made an interesting confession. In an exclusive interview with Howard Stern on Sirius XM, the 31-year-old British actor opened up about his experiences in the film franchise and his love life.

RPattz also made some confessions about his engagement to 29-year-old English singer-songwriter FKA Twigs. In recent years, the couple was bombarded by engagement rumors but they neither confirm nor deny the speculations.

‘Twilight’ audition experience

From auditioning while on Valium to admitting that he was not a “hottie with a body” and clashing with the production team, Pattinson definitely had one “helluva” Edward Cullen experience. So, let’s start off with his pre-audition phase.

Before being cast in the movie adaptation of Meyer’s famous vampire series, RPattz was spending the summer in Los Angeles. At the time, he was feasting on In-n-Out burgers without thinking about exercise.

So when the time of his audition came, Kristen Stewart’s ex-boyfriend was out of shape.

He even admitted that he thought movie director Catherine Hardwicke won’t give him a chance, especially when he was told about the need to take off his shirt for the film.

Speaking of his audition, Pattinson told Stern that he was actually on Valium when he went to his first and follow-up auditions for the film series. The actor explained that he took the drug to calm his nerves and it was taken with the encouragement of his agent.

Broody attitude

Did you know that Robert Pattinson almost got fired from “Twilight?” Well, now you know and the actor said it was due to his “broody attitude.” During the interview, he revealed that his own perception of Edward and Bella’s relationship nearly led him to get axed from the movie.

For him, what makes a relationship intense is by “barely talking to each other” but his idea sparked some friction with the production team, who wanted Edward and Bella’s interaction to be “happy and fun.” Due to the clash, his agents also convinced him to smile more often.

Love life and engagement

Due to the box office success of the “Twilight” series, Pattinson became a household name and many fans got obsessed over Edward and Bella’s reel and real-life connections. His fast-rising popularity and the fandom obsession, however, made maintaining a personal life pretty challenging.

According to Pattinson, the fandom also made it hard for him to have a love life, especially after his controversial breakup with ex-girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. The former “Harry Potter” star also revealed that the “most frustrating thing in the world” is making a decision on what to share and what to keep private from fans, who could be “a crap troupe of crazies.”

Even though he wanted to create a “big boundary” between his personal and celebrity lives, it became difficult especially when he’s in an actual relationship.

Interestingly, RPattz also apparently confirmed his engagement with FKA Twigs (Well, “kind off”) during the sit-down interview.

The actor, however, stressed that he wants to keep his love life private but that didn’t stop him from saying some good words about his lady love. In fact, he told Stern that Twigs is “amazing and super talented.”

According to the reports, Pattinson proposed to the “Two Weeks” singer in early 2015. The proposal took place a few months after the couple was first spotted together but People reported the wedding has been postponed in August 2015.

Young thief?

Apart from sharing his early acting experiences and a glimpse into his love life, Pattinson also recalled his childhood days.

Pattinson confessed that he was a “rebel student” who wanted to earn a lot of money. So, he stole porn magazines and sold them to his fellow students.

This side gig, however, led to his expulsion from the school. But despite the fact of being a young thief who got caught and expelled, Pattinson admitted that he “loved” the experience.
