Quentin Tarantino, the director of classic films such as “Pulp Fiction” and “Reservoir Dogs,” is reportedly working on his ninth feature film that will be based on the Manson Family Murders. Tarantino has always said that he will only be making a total of 10 films. If what he claims is true, then this next movie should be his second to the last feature film.

Many are speculating that the next film might reunite Tarantino and “Inglorious Basterds” star Brad Pitt. Moreover, Jennifer Lawrence may also join the cast according to a report by IndieWire.

A film based on a dark time in the United States

The Manson murders involved the killing of nine people during their crime spree in 1969. Sharon Tate, who was eight months pregnant at the time, was among the five killed on the night of August 8 of that year.

Manson and his accomplices were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1971 for the killings. This should be interesting how the highly acclaimed filmmaker translates this dark history onto his film.

The movie already has a screenplay

Tarantino not only directs his movies but he also writes terrific dialogue for the screenplay, something he is very well known for, and his ninth film is no exception as the director has already written a script, reports say.

However, the title of the movie is yet to be disclosed.

The filmmaker is also known for creating his own material for his movies but if this movie will also be based on any other material such as books and TV shows that also revolve around the Manson murders still remains to be seen. Although, adopting other material is not Tarantino’s style as he only done it once when he directed the film "Jacky Brown" which was based on the novel "Rum Punch" by Elmore Leonard.

Who might be the cast for the film?

Tarantino is reportedly looking to bring in an all-star cast for his next film.

In addition to Pitt and Lawrence as previously mentioned, Margot Robbie is said to have a pivotal role in the film. Tarantino-regular Samuel L. Jackson will likely have a role in the ninth film by the director as Jackson has starred in six of his eight movies, including the last three.

Other notable stars that might reunite with Tarantino in this film are Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, and Kurt Russel, just to name a few.

Tarantino is eyeing to begin shooting his ninth film by next year.
