"Pacific Rim" introduced everyone to the world of Jaegers -- multi-pilot mecha. As the movie progressed, these Jaegers turned into scrap. However, it looks like "Pacific Rim: Uprising" will be introducing not just one but several Jaegers in the sequel.

The teaser trailer

Who is ready to get back to beating up some kaiju monsters? The teaser trailer for the upcoming "Pacific Rim: Uprising" was released this week and instead of the usual plot summary, the teaser entitled "Jaeger Uprising Recruitment Video" took the audiences to the place of recruitment for Jaeger pilots.

The trailer also gave us the first look at some of the movie's new Jaegers.

One of these Jaeger pilots is John Boyega from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Boyega will be playing the character of Jake Pentecost, the son of Stacker Penecost from the first movie. Other cast members include Scott Eastwood, Charlie Day, Jing Tian, and Cailee Spaeny.

A new director, a different take on the story?

The first film was directed by Guillermo del Toro. However, based on IMDB and Splash Report, del Toro will be replaced by Steven S. DeKnight. DeKnight is no stranger to blockbusters after directing top-rated shows such as "Spartacus," "Angel," "Smallville," and "Daredevil." The scriptwriter behind monster films "Jurassic World" and "Kong: Skull Island," Derek Connolly, will be writing the script for "Pacific Rim: Uprising" so fans should expect a bigger and bolder take in the sequel.

After confirmation that the second movie will hit theaters in February next year, details about the film have been very scarce. With only the stars of the film confirmed, fans cannot wait to know what the upcoming film has in store for fans.

Three new Jaeger bots confirmed

Although only a few details have been announced for the second "Pacific Rim" film, there are three images of new Jaeger bots circulating the internet.

These images show three new Jaeger bots called "Bracer Phoenix," "Gipsy Avenger," and "Saber Athena." As confirmed on Imgur, these Jaegers will have different weapons and features. The photos also gave fans a glimpse of what the Jaegers will be capable of when in battle with the Kaiju monsters.

With only a few months before the premiere of the second "Pacific Rim" movie, fans are anticipating more stories and even more action-packed sequences."Pacific Rim: Uprising" is set to premiere on February 23, 2018.
