Things will be very different when “Once Upon a Time” Season 7 returns on Oct. 6. ABC has now announced the official release of the rebooted fairy tale television series at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 on Thursday.
The network also gave a glimpse of what is going to happen in the life of the remaining original cast with a hologram video. Although it was just a quick peek, it revealed a number of intriguing captions, teasing what’s to come.
The time jump
“A new savior rises/ The Legend/ Of good vs. evil/ Reborn,” the words in the footage read.
In the “Once Upon a Time” Season 7 video, the Evil Queen (Lana Parilla) can be seen along with Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle), and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) as they continue their journeys.
Also, the clip revealed the inclusion of Andrew J. West as the adult Henry and Alison Fernandez as his daughter named Lucy.
The television series will look very different from its predecessors after the major cast overhaul. In fact, fans will see the return of Henry Mills (Jared S. Gilmore) in the show’s premiere episode, which has the title “Hyperion Heights,” to feature the time jump.
A new Cinderella
Moreover, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the television series’ executive producer Edward Kitsis talked about the show’s return.
In “Once Upon a Time” Season 7, fans are about to see a different version of Cinderella portrayed by Dania Ramirez. The showrunner recollected that Henry Mill’s grandfather is Prince Charming.
Thus they will be having the latter’s grandson with a new Cinderella.
Viewers might be confused that a different star will play the role of Cinderella. To recall, the character is once played by Jessy Schram. The show can explain how this will happen by featuring a young Henry revealing the reason why he left home. “Henry’s the author of the first book, but he wants to go to the place where the happy ending isn’t written,” Edward Kitsis explained.
New stars in the real world
Meanwhile, aside from the original returning cast Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Colin O’Donoghue and the newly added Andrew J. West, there will also be new series regulars joining “Once Upon a Time” Season 7.
Dania Ramirez, Gabrielle Anwar, Mekia Cox, Rose Reynolds, and Adelaide Kane will be now all seen in the fantasy series, Deadline reported. They will be now making new memories in the “real world” as everything they know is wiped out by a powerful curse.
