Kermit the Frog is best known for his role in the TV series "The Muppets." He has become the most popular of the characters and was voiced by Steve Whitmire for the past 27 years. However, Whitmire is leaving the Muppet Studios. It remains unclear as to whether he quit or was fired. Regardless, Kermit the Frog's voice actor will be replaced by another member of the Muppet family.
Kermit voice actor leaves
Steve Whitmire is leaving the Muppets ensemble. Whitmire has been voicing Kermit, the Frog since the 1990's. He has been the steady voice of the fan-favorite Muppet for over 27 years.
However, Whitmire has decided to call it quits after his lucrative career as the character. According to Hollywood Entertainment, Whitmire's decision to leave has been confirmed by a Muppet Studio spokesperson.
Steve was heavily involved in voice acting for the Muppets. His characters not only included Kermit the Frog but also Foo-Foo, Startler, Beaker, Lips, Rizzo the Rat, The Muppet Newsman, Link Hogthrob and Andy Pig. The loss of Steve Whitmire will be felt by the studio. However, fellow voice actor Matt Vogel will be taking over Whitmire's role as Kermit the Frog.
Vogel previously worked alongside Steve and seemed to be the best fit for the position. He has been working with the Muppet Studio since 1996 and has a tremendous knowledge of the specific desires of the characters.
As a puppeteer he has worked on such characters as Ernie, Big Bird, Count von Count, Camilla the Chicken and the 80's Robot.
The fame of Kermit the Frog
Matt Vogel will have to be prepared for the enormous fame that comes alongside voicing the star Muppet, Kermit the Frog. The character has starred in some other TV shows and movies.
He is the most popular Muppet out of the mix and has the highest demand among the public. Vogel has previously worked as a Kermit impersonator in the movie "Muppets Most Wanted."
He will reprise the role of Kermit the Frog next week in a video online. One can only hope that there will not be too much change in the beloved Frog's voice.
The Muppet Studio's are confident with their voice of Vogel ass he has the necessary experience for the position.
The Muppets as a whole were last seen on the mockumentary by ABC. However, the studio has been producing massive amounts of content for their dedicated fans. Fans will have to wait as far as finding out what their next big project will be.
While Matt Vogel is taking on the role of Kermit the Frog, there has been no comment on who is taking on the roles of the other characters Whitmire voiced. One can assume that it will be another member of the Muppet family. However, there is a possibility that they will be on the search for new talent.
