Kelly Clarkson encounters body shaming from time to time, but now, it seems like she cannot just be silent about it. On July 4th, Clarkson had a heartwarming and patriotic Twitter post. Unfortunately, someone who is obviously not a fan tried to ruin the mood.
A social media user tweeted to Kelly Clarkson saying, “You’re fat.” Meanwhile, the 35-year-old singer has always been vocal she does not care what people think regarding her weight. This led her to respond on Twitter saying, “and still f**king awesome.”
Fans react on Kelly Clarkson’s response
Of course, many netizens saw Clarkson’s reply on Twitter and applaud her for the direct and confident reply.
This was not the first time Clarkson received such comments about her weight. She has been dealing with it for years. According to People, the mom of two told Ellen DeGeneres in 2015 about the criticisms she has been receiving.

“It is like, you are just who you are. We are who we are. Whatever size,” she shared. Clarkson also explained how she accepts herself as the “big” woman people usually describe.
Other people who mocked the ‘American Idol’ star
In 2015, Chris Wallace from Fox News Sunday and radio host Mike Gallagher ridiculed Clarkson on “The Mike Gallagher Show.” The former mentioned Clarkson could have stayed off the deep dish pizza while Gallagher stressed out how big she had gotten.
Later on, Wallace sent his apologies to the singer. He shared his admiration for her talent and admits that he should have focused on other important topics. The same way goes for Gallagher who penned apologies on his website.
The 57-year-old host said he is the last person that would bring up a topic about a person’s weight.
He felt sorry for the observation that led to his listeners concluding it was body shaming. Moreover, he also acknowledges that she is a classic and talented entertainer.
Furthermore, Clarkson shot to fame in 2002 after winning the prominent talent show “American Idol.” She married Brandon Blackstock in 2013 and became a stepmother to her husband’s kids.
Their relationship has been blessed with two additional children in the family.
As for her career, earlier reports confirmed that she will be joining “The Voice” as one of the coaches. Therefore, Kelly Clarkson is obviously moving forward in the music industry despite the occasional criticisms about her weight. Any thoughts about Clarkson's reaction on Twitter?
