It has been three years since Disney unleashed it on cinemas and children all over the world and it seems one still can't quite let go of 'Frozen' and all spin-off media connected to it. It is well-known the story of fans buying tickets to the 2015 live-action 'Cinderella' only to watch the 'Frozen Fever' short feature shown before the movie. One cannot help but think of the same treatment for Pixar's 'Coco' this November, as it would have the new 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' as an advance feature.

But for those looking for a fuller taste of 'Frozen', there's the sequel that has already been given by Disney the target premiere date of November 27, 2019 – a full six years after the original. Now there's more news about it, courtesy of Tony nominee Jonathan Groff.

Voice work starting

Jonathan Groff, who gave the voice for the once-solitary iceman Kristoff in the first 'Frozen' film, recently dropped hints that he will be coming to begin voice-work for Disney soon. The news was given during an interview about his current project, the podcast musical '36 Questions'. When asked a throwaway question regarding the status of 'Frozen 2', Groff mentioned receiving an email from Disney reminding him to go to the recording studio about a month from now.

"They're about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I'm excited about," Groff noted. "I don't know anything about it yet other than I'm about to start recording my section of it."

Groff also mentioned his excitement at being able to reunite with the rest of the Disney creative team involved in 'Frozen'. He has expressed looking forward to working with directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (who can be thanked, or blamed, for 'Let It Go').

Story kept secret

Fans, of course, are curious about even the tiniest possible detail regarding what the storyline for 'Frozen 2' may be. Status quos were established in the 'Frozen Fever' 2015 short, with Elsa ruling as Queen of Arendelle with her sister Anna at her side, free to use her ice powers without fear with the acceptance and admiration of her people.

Perhaps more will be revealed in 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' this November on where characters stand.

But Jonathan Groff remains in the dark as to the plot of the sequel to 'Frozen', claiming that Disney is currently keeping it "totally lock and key." He thinks he won't be able to guess at how things go until he finally reports in for recording his lines and perhaps a few songs. After all, 2019 is still long ways off, and plenty of time to wait for more details on 'Frozen 2'.
