"Jigsaw" was announced at the San Diego Comic Con. The movie will be the sequel of the latest "Saw" movie titled "Saw: The Final Chapter". The movie will be directed by Michael and Peter Spierig. The screenplay for the eighth movie in the franchise was co-written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. The plot surrounds a new killer on the loose which is revealed in the trailer to be a copycat killer. The detectives find DNA of the "Saw" killer with one of the bodies and it has been confirmed that Josh Kramer will be returning. Casting includes such actors as Tobin Bell, Laura Vandervoort, Josiah Black and Hannah Emily Anderson.

'Jigsaw' features another copycat killer

In the newest installment in the franchise, more bodies are turning up. The recently released trailer has shown that the famous killer's DNA is found under a victims nails. This confuses the detectives on the case as the "Jigsaw" killer has been dead for years. However, according to Bloody Disgusting, John Kramer will be returning to the series in some capacity. As the trailer continues is it revealed that there is a copy cat killer on the loose.

This copycat killer proves just as dangerous as any of the previous killers in the franchise. The copycat has a rake of new contraptions and tasks for the detectives to complete in order to save the next victims.

One of these features a group of people with buckets on their heads being drawn towards a saw by a chain. Detectives only have one minute to solve the puzzle before they are all killed.

Who will be returning to the franchise

According to Collider, the former apprentices of the killer will not be returning to the eighth movie "Jigsaw".

This means that Cary Elwes and Costas Mandylor will not be reprising their subsequent roles. However, it has been confirmed that Tobin Bell will be reprising his role as John Kramer. As to how the dead killer will return, that secret is yet to be revealed.

The franchise has been very popular over the years and they are expecting "Jigsaw" will be a great success.

According to Coming Soon, all of the "Saw" films have a worldwide box office grossing over $870 million. All the films were made on a combined budget of about $67 million.

"Jigsaw" is expected to arrive in US theaters on October 27, 2017. It will arrive just in time for some Halloween viewing. Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the return of the franchise and can not wait to see what is in store for them.
