It was last year when “Captain America: Civil War,” featuring the battle between members of the Avengers, was seen on the big screen. The next installment of the Avengers franchise, “Avengers: Infinity War,” is set for an initial release in April 2018 and recent reports claim that the 2018 Marvel movie will show more of the love story between Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and The Vision (Paul Bettany).
Film to explore a love story?
According to Comic Book Movie, the comic versions of the two characters included a romantic relationship. Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda Maximoff, and Vision fell in love with one another and became a couple.
However, their story was not all romance because, in the comics, Scarlet Witch forced She-Hulk to tear The Vision in half when she lost her control over her powers. It was also cited by the same publication that sweet images of the two surfaced, which might be a signal of an upcoming romantic story between Scarlet Witch and Vision in the anticipated “Avengers: Infinity War.”
In addition, the same report also noted the statement made by Elizabeth Olsen during an interview regarding her character’s relationship with Vision. The actress said that she doesn’t know whether Scarlet Witch and Vision’s romantic story in the upcoming film will be tackled, but she did not deny the “Avengers: Infinity War” rumors either.
In fact, Olsen even admitted that due to the media’s romantic images of both characters, there may be a possibility that the next installment of the “Avengers” franchise might unfold Scarlet Witch and Vision’s love affair.
Captain Marvel not joining the next film
In other news, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that one of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel superheroes, Captain Marvel, will not be seen in “Avengers: Infinity War.” This has been confirmed by the director of the upcoming film himself, Joe Russo.
Although it was already decided that Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will not have an appearance in “Infinity War,” the report noted that Captain Marvel might still have a chance to join the Avengers in the fourth installment.
Meanwhile, fans of the female superhero should not feel disappointed as Captain Marvel will have a standalone film that is scheduled to hit theaters in 2019.
The film will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who co-directed the 2015 film “Mississippi Grind” and the 2010 film “It’s A Kind of A Funny Story.”
