Show producer Barbara Brocolli has set her eyes on Daniel Craig for the upcoming 25th installment of the James Bond franchise. After Craig had dropped his role, it remained in limbo. Barbara Brocolli and her husband conducted auditions to find the new actor that will play the elusive British spy.

Daniel Craig's James Bond role is most coveted role

Versatile actors expressed their desire to play the role – Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Theo James, Aidan Turner, Tom Hardy, and Michael Fassbender, among others. Some of them have gone to the audition, but no one passed the producer’s criteria.

Brocolli said last year that she would exert all efforts to make Daniel Craig change his mind even to the extent of offering him a king’s ransom.

Craig stated that he is done with the franchise. He said that he would rather slash his wrist than play James Bond again. He said that the “Spectre” would be his last film because he was already tired of the role and wants to try other genres. He has been with the franchise for more than one decade. Efforts to convince him have fallen on deaf ears for long. But whether he was offered a hefty contract price to reprise his role is not yet known at present.

But in a report by Daily Mail, the “Road to Perdition” star will reprise his role as James Bond 007 when the 25th film will be released.

The release date will be on November 8, 2019.

Craig’s return to the franchise had been heavily speculated. Many of his fans fear that they will never see him play the role again. The “Logan Lucky” star’s return is a “done deal” according to LRM based on information from reliable sources. The upcoming film’s production has long been readied.

The producers did not disclose the identity of the director yet.

Former James Bond actors approve of Craig for the role

The choice of Craig to play James bond has been controversial because he reportedly did not equal the former actors but five of the actors that played James Bond agreed that he is the best choice at that time.

Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, and George Lazenby all voiced their approval for the 49-year-old actor. They were right in choosing him because his first movie was a big hit.

The “Dream House” star was behind “Skyfall,” “Spectre,” “Casino Royale,” and “Quantum of Solace.” Daniel Craig stars in the 2017 movie titled “Logan Lucky” which is about two brothers who attempt to pull off a robbery during a NASCAR race in North Carolina. More details about the 2019 film will be revealed soon.
