The July 10 episode of "The Bachelorette" 2017 involved a one-on-one date between Rachel Lindsay and Peter Kraus. They discussed at length where things are at with them and Peter brought up a painful memory of breaking up with his last girlfriend. He told Rachel that as he drove away, he saw his ex-girlfriend in the rear view mirror with tears streaming down her face. The 31-year-old said he "abandoned" her and blamed himself for the split.

Learn more about Brittany Hansen

Who is "The Bachelorette" contestant's ex-girlfriend? Life & Style reports that Brittany Hansen is the woman Peter Kraus was in a relationship with.

Her Instagram page indicates that they were together a few years ago. The pair were photographed celebrating New Year's Eve in January 2015. Brittany also posted photo of her kissing Peter on the cheek in late 2014 and captioned it: "My knight in shining Armani."

Peter Kraus' ex-girlfriend used to work as a promotional model and now works for Red Bull in Madison, Wisconsin as a manager. She attended Bethel University and Minneapolis Community and Technical College in Minnesota. Social networking and event planning are listed as other skills that Hansen has been endorsed for.

Fashion and music festivals are among two of Brittany's interests -- faith plays a big role in her life as well.

Brittany is probably seeing her as the center of attention this week after Peter mentioned their breakup experience. It's possible he warned her that there might be a brief interest in who she is following the July 10 episode of "The Bachelorette." It couldn't have been easy having a past relationship drudged up on national TV.

Would she agree with Peter's version of their split that he "abandoned" her?

Peter to be next "Bachelor" if he doesn't win?

Peter Kraus filled Rachel Lindsay in on his past with Brittany because it was related to the potential of them getting engaged. Peter isn't completely ready at this point to give himself to Rachel and she's worried that if she chooses him in the end that he won't get down on one knee and propose.

Peter Kraus is pegged to be next season's "Bachelor." If he doesn't win Rachel's heart in the end, he's the most likely candidate to be next year's lead.

"The Bachelorette" 2017 airs Monday nights on ABC at 8 p.m., ET/PT.
