The July 10 episode of "The Bachelorette" 2017 involved a one-on-one date between Rachel Lindsay and Peter Kraus. They discussed at length where things are at with them and Peter brought up a painful memory of breaking up with his last girlfriend. He told Rachel that as he drove away, he saw his ex-girlfriend in the rear view mirror with tears streaming down her face. The 31-year-old said he "abandoned" her and blamed himself for the split.

Peter to be next "Bachelor" if he doesn't win?

Peter Kraus filled Rachel Lindsay in on his past with Brittany because it was related to the potential of them getting engaged. Peter isn't completely ready at this point to give himself to Rachel and she's worried that if she chooses him in the end that he won't get down on one knee and propose.

Peter Kraus is pegged to be next season's "Bachelor." If he doesn't win Rachel's heart in the end, he's the most likely candidate to be next year's lead.

"The Bachelorette" 2017 airs Monday nights on ABC at 8 p.m., ET/PT.
