It has been confirmed that an “Assassin’s Creed” series is in development, and “Castlevania” creator Adi Shankar will collaborate on the project.
Shankar took to his Twitter last night to reveal that Ubisoft recruited him for the job. “I am glad to announce that Ubisoft has selected me for a new project.” Adi Shankar will move to New York City by the end of this month for finalizing the deal with Ubisoft. It would not be wrong to say that Adi’s profile has been rising for several months. Apart from Netflix’s new “Castlevania” show, he has served as a producer on 2012’s hit “Dredd” and has directed “Power Rangers” and “Venom: Truth in Journalism.”
Is it official?
A report by Kotaku reveals that Ubisoft may make a formal announcement once it finalizes the deal with Shankar.
Last year, Ubisoft chairman Yves Guillemot revealed that they were in talks with Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime to develop a few shows based on latest video games. In January 2017, head of “Assassin’s Creed” content Aamir Azizi mentioned on Reddit that a television series was in the cards. With Adi on board, the series is now one step closer to becoming a reality.
Long time in the making
Rumors of an “Assassin’s Creed” show have been floating around for several months, and Yves Guillemot states that they are about to develop several new series for Netflix and Hulu. But there is no information whether Adi Shankar will be a part of Ubisoft’s new projects or not.
The first "Assassin's Creed" game was released in January 2007 and quickly became popular.
The series took a year off last year but is now returning with the release of "Assassin's Creed: Origins." It is set in an ancient world and goes from the beginning of the world to the forming of living things.

What is ‘Assassin's Creed?’
“Assassin's Creed” is a game franchise created by Ubisoft.
It depicts a war between the Assassins and the Templars. The Assassins fight for maintaining peace and harmony within the city, while the Templars want to create restlessness everywhere. Featuring historical characters and real-life figures, the game series is inspired by a novel of the same name by Vladimir Bartol. It is built upon concepts and ideas from the “Prince of Persia” game series.
The game is available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, OS X, Wii U, and Microsoft Windows users.
It seems that the TV adaptation is in the early stages of development, but we feel that Adi Shankar is going to bring forth something incredible. What are your views in this regard?
