Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra tried their luck in Hollywood; they appeared in “xXx” and “baywatch” respectively, but the two movies failed to impress the audiences. Given that both Deepika’s film “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” and Priyanka’s latest Hollywood project “Baywatch” have hit the cinemas, we can take a look at their box office reports.

We are aware of the fact that Bollywood stars often try their luck in Hollywood. Previously, Aishwarya Rai appeared in a British-American film and managed to win the hearts of her global fans.

In contrast, Deepika and Priyanka have failed to impress the fans as their movies have not done good business at the box office.

‘Baywatch'

Released on May 19, 2017, “Baywatch” has earned only $24 million at the global box office. This American film is directed by Seth Gordon, based on a TV series of the same name. Scripted by Mark Swift, “Baywatch” features Priyanka Chopra, Dwayne Johnson, Ilfenesh Hadera, Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach, Alexandra Daddario, and Jon Bass.

Despite its strong marketing campaigns, the film could not break the box office records of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.” Before its release, Dwayne, Zac, Alexandra, and Priyanka regularly uploaded new movie posters and clips on official social media; but nothing could get “Baywatch” satisfactory comments from critics and audiences.

Though the film is still in theaters, we feel that “Baywatch” won’t be able to earn more than $400 million during its theoretical run.

‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’

Deepika Padukone was in the headlines last year, before the release of her Hollywood film "xXx: Return of Xander Cage." Everyone believed that this movie would do excellent business at the box office.

Released on January 5, 2017, by Paramount Pictures, "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" is directed by D.J. Caruso and scripted by Scott Frazier. The film features Vin Diesel, Deepika Padukone, Donnie Yen, Ruby Rose, Kris Wu, Tony Jaa, Samuel Jackson, Nina Dobrev, and Toni Collette.

It is the third installment in the “xXX” film franchise, following 2002 movie “xXx” and 2005 blockbuster “xXx: State of the Union.” Hermione Corfield, Tony Gonzalez, Ice Cube, Shawn Roberts, Daniel Kash, and Neymar Jr.

played supporting characters in "xXx: Return of Xander Cage."

This film grossed only $42 million in Canada and the United States and over $290 million in other countries against a production budget of $75 million.

Though Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have worked hard in their films, they failed to impress the global fans. We wish them good luck and hope to see them in more Hollywood movies.
