Steven Yeun is undeniably one of the most iconic and unforgettable characters of "The Walking Dead." His exit in the premiere episode in season 7 was tragic and considered to be one of the most painful deaths in the series. That said, the 33-year old actor had a bittersweet exit from the series because although his character died, the viewers were truly shaken and wanted a better ending for Glenn Rhee. On the other hand, Yeun admitted that he felt happy that his character was given a very dramatic ending that will remain unforgotten by all "TWD" fans.
The series progressed without Glenn and his death was soon set aside with all the evil antics of Negan and the survival moves of the remaining characters. However, recent reports reveal that there might be a possibility that Glenn might be returning in the upcoming season.
Previous reports have revealed fan theories that Glenn might have had a twin brother, who will be making his appearance to haunt Negan and take vengeance for the death of his brother. However, it was downplayed by the showrunners and season 7 progressed without a shadow of Glenn, or his twin brother for that matter, in sight.
'I want to see my friends'
According to reports, Steven Yeun was quoted that he wants to see his friends.
While it might just be the own feelings of the Korean-American actor, fans have begun to theorize that it could be a clue that Glenn might be returning in "The Walking Dead" season 8. Given that Steven Yeun was with the cast and crew of "TWD" since season 1, it was admittedly a difficult time for him when he had to say goodbye to his fellow cast members, who, in one way or another, have become his friends.
To ease his longing for his friends, the "Okja" actor admitted that he still watches the show during his free time.
Busy with other projects
It appears that being part of "The Walking Dead" has opened lots of opportunities for Steven Yeun, one of which is the upcoming film, "Okja," where he will be starring with Paul Dano, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, Jake Gyllenhaal and Hee-Bong Byun.
For the fans who are still hoping that Glenn might make a re-appearance in "The Walking Dead" season 8, it seems like it's going to be a big jump over the moon as Steven Yeun himself mentioned no such thing in a recent interview. Instead, the Korean-American actor was busy promoting "Okja," which will be showing in Netflix and other select theaters on June 28.
