In K-pop, certain girl groups are recognized for utilizing the sexy concept such as EXID and to and extent AOA. However, if there is one girl group synonymous with it, it is easily Stellar.

Formed under The Entertainment Pascal, Stellar's unique association to the sexy concept is one of survival as they were on the verge of disbanding. Their 2014 K-pop comeback, "Marionette," put all the cards on the table in which they used the sexy concept for the first time in their careers. It was a critical success as the title track song of the same name had over 150,000 downloads just in South Korea alone.

The sexy concept would become Stellar's "bread and butter" as their two non-sexy concept songs after "Marionette," "Mask" and "Fool," failed to garner any attention. They would go back to the sexy concept with "Vibrato" and "Sting" in which both have done very well.

Despite their success, Stellar doesn't want to be pigeon-holed into the sexy concept. They tried a different direction in their last K-pop comeback in 2016 titled "Crying." Now, they are hitting another concept this time by telling a story and adding a fifth member in "Archangels of the Sephiroth."

Stellar's 2017 promos introduce a new concept and a new member

Stellar started to release pre-release promotions for their comeback earlier this month.

From them, we learned they will be featuring a light and dark concept with their comeback. Eventually, it turned out that the concepts represented angels and demons. We also learned of a new member to be added to the group, Soyoung.

Eventually, it was revealed the upcoming K-pop comeback would be Stellar's third extended play (EP) or mini-album titled "Stellar Into The World" and it would feature the title track song "Archangels of the Sephiroth."

Despite a beautiful return, Stellar is mostly ignored by the majority of the K-pop community

"Stellar Into The World" and the music video for "Archangels of the Sephiroth" were released on June 27, 2017.

The music video showed that Stellar once again changed up their tactic in which they went the direction of a performance concept. This means everything they did for this comeback was meant to tell a story. Some probably expected such as the title of the featured track pointed to it.

In the music video, Soyoung is tempted by two forces along her travels, devils and angels.

Members Gayoung and Junyeol are devils while members Hyoeun and Minhee are angels. In the forest, Gayoung tempts to bring Soyoung to the dark side while Hyoeun tries to bring her to the light. The same struggle happens in the desert this time with Minhee and Junyeol. Soyoung is conflicted at first but chooses to follow the light. Unfortunately, the devils trap her with them.

Sadly, Stellar's comeback was mostly ignored by the K-pop community. Along with the fact Black Pink and Mamamoo just released their comebacks before them, Stellar has been struggling for the last seven years. Their last big hit was, as mentioned earlier, "Marionette." Since then, they have given up on many things such as earning a number one hit song on the charts or placing first on a music competition show.

At this moment, they are only doing the music mostly for the fans who still support them over the years.

Stellar's latest comeback, "Stellar Into The World" featuring the title track song "Archangels of the Sephiroth" is available for download on iTunes. There is no news of a physical copy being released for international sale just yet.
