If there's one member of the media who has been the most vocal in their support for Donald Trump it's been Fox News host Sean Hannity. Following Trump's controversial tweets targeting the hosts of "Morning Joe" on MSNBC, Hannity was quick to offer his defense of the president while slandering Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough in the process.

Hannity on "Morning Joe"

It's not a big secret that Donald Trump and the most of the mainstream media are not on the same page. Since the day Trump announced his campaign for president back in the summer of 2015, the media and the former host of "The Apprentice" have been at each other's throats.

While most of the press have held Trump's feet to the fire on a routine basis, not everyone was quick to push back. Over on the more traditionally liberal network of MSNBC, "Morning Joe" hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough gave Trump a chance during the early days of the election, with the president appearing on the morning show on more than one occasion. However, that relationship quickly crumbled as the hosts became two of Trump's most vocal opponents. In response, Fox News host Sean Hannity increased his war of words at the "Morning Joe" duo as his own support for Trump increased. After Trump sent out his now infamous "facelift" tweets about Brzezinski, Hannity took to Twitter on June 30 to double down on his support for Trump.

As seen in a series of tweets over the last 24 hours, Sean Hannity spent some of his time on social media defending Donald Trump's actions, while piling on his criticism on Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

"Maybe liberal Joe should stop calling the @POTUS a schmuck, a liar, a thug and mentally unhinged. Were they kissing @POTUS ass at Xmas? Yes," Hannity tweeted out in response to CNN host Jake Tapper's criticism of the president's tweets.

"Remember this gem, Sean Hannity posted, while attaching a link to an article that highlighted Mika Brzezinski's previous comment about Donald Trump being "mentally ill." "Joe and Mika call @POTUS a schmuck, thug, goon, liar, idiot, anti trump Music video, daily hysterical breakdowns, who's unhinged & not well?" Hannity rhetorically went on to ask.

In another post, Hannity re-tweeted Brzezinski's mock tweet where she trolled the president about the size of his hands, with the Fox News host adding, "Poor little victims Joe & Mika? "Little Hands"? THIS IS NBC NEWS!"

Moving forward

While Sean Hannity and others in the conservative media continue to back Donald Trump regardless of the circumstance, his standing with the American people is not holding up. According to the most recent round of polling, Trump is facing just a 40 percent approval rating, which has only continued to drop in recent weeks.
