ABC has renewed “Quantico” for another season, and fans should expect a few changes. Priyanka Chopra is returning to the small screen with thirteen episodes. Owen Hall (Blair Underwood) is going to take control of the CIA in the new season. Plus, showrunner Josh Safran has reportedly left the series. Some fans were expecting that the show would end after the second season. As per the TV Guide, “Quantico” season 2 continued to hit higher viewership ratings which is why the network decided to renew it. The show’s DVR ratings averaged 6 million viewers per episode with 1.4 ratings in key demographics.

Owen will take over the CIA

In a recent interview with TVLine, show creator Joshua Safran revealed that Owen Hall would head the CIA in the new episodes of “Quantico.” It seems that the show creator wants Hall to take over Matthew’s position at Langley. The character of Matthew was previously played by none other than Henry Czerny. After a series of successful operations against Roarke (played by Dennis Boutsikaris), Hall is ready to accept bigger challenges. While he needs proper training as an agent, we cannot deny that Owen Hall will do well as a CIA leader.

Joshua also discussed a few things about Hall’s love life and admitted that he was not supposed to be with Miranda. He credits the audience’s positive reactions to the couple’s excellent portrayal of the characters.

He believes that their onscreen chemistry has been great, but the “affair” is not meant to be permanent. From these statements, we feel that the new “Quantico” episodes won’t have Miranda and Owen as a couple.

Yasmine Al Massri and Pearl Thusi are leaving

A report by The Hollywood Reporter hints at the characters of Yasmine Al Massri and Pearl Thusi.

Actress Yasmine, who portrayed twins Raina and Nimah, will not return in the third season. She announced her departure through a Twitter post, where she thanked fans for their continuous love and support.

The news website even claims that Pearl Thusi has left the series. Her character was introduced at the beginning of season two.

Things have subsequently changed, and Pearl made an announcement via social media that she would not return to “Quantico” season 3. So technically speaking, three main characters aren’t coming back. Priyanka Chopra will apparently return to “Quantico” season 3. She has reportedly been a prominent international seller for ABC Studios.

The story of “Quantico” revolves around several FBI agents who get trapped in terrorist conspiracies. ABC has yet to announce the release date of season 3.
