CBS has confirmed that Jennifer Esposito’s involvement has already ended as her character would no longer be seen in the upcoming “NCIS” Season 15. As reported by Celebeat, the deteriorating health of Mark Harmon could cause the show’s cancellation.

Veteran actor’s health might cause series’ cancellation?

The health of Mark Harmon had become one of the hottest topics online since he has been keeping mum about it. Because of this, fans cannot help but wonder if the lead star would still continue working for the imminent “NCIS” Season 15. Harmon was able to finish filming all the episodes of Season 14 despite all the issues about his health.

As a matter of fact, the character being portrayed by the 65-year-old star, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, is reportedly going to face the music soon. This way, the character would have a graceful exit.

However, CarterMatt had made it clear that Mark Harmon would still be continuing his role as a special agent in “NCIS” Season 15. Despite the rumors claiming that the actor’s health could cause the show’s cancellation, the site made it clear that there is no reason for Harmon to leave yet. In fact, Harmon told Men’s Fitness, in an interview, that he uses pilates to keep himself in shape. According to the “St. Elsewhere” star, his physical therapist introduced him to the apparatus after having a shoulder injury.

“I try to take care of myself and try to eat well and try to get [my] rest,” Mark Harmon stated. The “NCIS” Season 15 actor even recounted the days when he was still able to run 60 to 70 miles in a week.

What should fans expect in the upcoming fifteenth installment?

Reports about Mark Harmon’s possible departure from the show sparked after it was confirmed that Jennifer Esposito will no longer be a part of the series anymore.

TV Line shared that the creative team is planning to take the team into a different direction, which is going to be different from what the late Gary Glasberg had initially planned.

Avid fans of the series can recall that Alex Quinn (Esposito) got two calls from her mom at Season 14’s finale episode. This, according to “NCIS” Season 15 spoilers, could be the sign of the special agent’s exit from the show.

Additionally, CarterMatt had also clarified that Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly are not returning in the upcoming fifteenth installment. The publication added that “Bull” was not canceled to give way to Weatherly’s possible return.
