Taylor Swift’s squad is all about friendship and loyalty. So when Lorde seemingly threw a shade at her longtime friend, the Swifties (Taylor’s fans) made sure that the “Royals” singer know that they are absolutely not happy with it. Now, T-Swift’s pal is apologizing for being insensitive.
During an interview with The Guardian, Lorde, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, compared her friendship with Taylor Swift to “an autoimmune disease.” This certainly did not sit well with the “Blank Space” hitmaker’s supporters, so they lashed out at the 20-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter, and record producer on social media.

“It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do,” Lorde shared to the publication. “There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”
Although Lorde did not mention any names, people assumed that she was talking about Taylor Swift. However, the “Green Light” singer apologized anyway after realizing that her comment upset a lot of her friend’s fans.
“I wonder how @selenagomez feels about this. What an incredibly ignorant analogy to make @lo rde,” said a fan. Lorde then replied to the post saying, “[I] didn't mention Taylor, but regardless, I f*cked up & that was really insensitive.

T-Swift too strict with friends?
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is known for having a tight and exclusive squad. Rumors have it that the “Wildest Dream” chart topper is choking her friends, which is probably the reason why people quickly assumed Lorde was talking about her in the recent interview.
As a matter of fact, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter was reportedly upset with Ed Sheeran before after the “Shape of You” hitmaker got a little too friendly with Swift’s number one nemesis, Katy Perry, before the 2017 Brit Awards.
