The repercussions of Josh Duggar's sexual deviancy have gone beyond the cancellation of "19 Kids and Counting" and Josh's banishment from reality TV. It turns out that the disgraced reality star turned car salesman has been banned from using smartphones after his shocking sex scandal. This is just one of the restrictions Josh has to live with now as a result of his past misdeeds.

Josh's history of infidelity

It stands to reason that Josh Duggar's wife Anna and others are trying to make sure that the controversial reality star doesn't fall back into his cheating ways.

Not long after fans found out that Josh was accused of molesting several of his sisters and possibly even one other female when he was a minor, it was also learned that he was cheating on his wife.

When the huge Ashley Madison hack revealed the names of the cheating website's subscribers, we learned that Josh Duggar's name was among the list of philandering husbands. Now only was Josh signed up with the service, he was also a paid member and had even paid for the website's "affair guarantee."

It's hard to argue that the Duggar son was just signed up out of curiosity after all of that. Especially after an adult film star came out of the woodwork at the height of the scandal and claimed that Josh had been having an affair with her.

To make matters worse, the former "19 Kids and Counting Star" is being sued for his involvement with the Ashley Madison website. Obviously, he couldn't use his own photo on the shady hookup site so he used someone else's photo. That may cost him up to $25,000 since the California man is now suing him for using his likeness and ruining his reputation.

Why ban the smartphone?

In the wake of the Ashley Madison scandal, Josh Duggar has reportedly received treatment for his issues. In August 2015, it was reported that the former TLC star had checked into rehab to help get his problem under control. Josh was sent to a faith-based treatment center and when he got out, his wife Anna took him right back.

Fast forward to 2017 and Anna Duggar is pregnant with the couple's fifth child. That doesn't mean she has gotten over Josh's infidelity though. Instead, Josh has taken steps to prevent backsliding and falling into his addictive patterns again.

One of those steps, according to Radar Online, is the lack of a smartphone. Rather than having a device that connects him to the Internet and social media, where Josh Duggar could very easily stray, he has been relegated to a Flip Phone with no access to the internet. It was reported that Josh carries two flip phones, one for business and one for personal use.

The reason for taking away Josh Duggar's cell phone privileges is directly related to his secrecy and the cheating scandal. Josh was accused of using his smartphone to access the Ashley Madison and OK Cupid websites as well as to operate numerous fake Twitter accounts.
