The stepfather of One Direction member Harry Styles lost his battle with cancer. Robin Twist was only 57.
The family of Styles released a statement saying Twist passed away sometime this week but did not say when exactly, after his Battle With Cancer. They asked for privacy as the family mourns.

E Online reported that Twist helped raise Styles and his sister when they were still teenagers. Twist started dating Styles’ mother, Anne Cox, years back and the One Direction singer became close with him. Twist and Cox got married in 2013 and Styles was the best man when they exchanged their vows.
His sister, on the other hand, was the maid of honor. The pair got married intentionally at a time when Styles had a break from his tour with the U.K. band.
Just recently, Twist and Cox celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. Twist also has two children from his first marriage. They are named Mike and Amy.
One Direction members extend condolences
Liam Payne, who recently welcomed his first child, took to Instagram to extend his condolences to Styles and his family. Payne posted a photo of Twist and Cox and wrote alongside the snap, “Harry my heart really goes out to you such an extremely sad day for us all who knew Robin." He added that Twist was a kind, gentle and beautiful soul. He tried to console Styles all the more by saying that sometimes the best people are taken away too soon from their loved ones.
Niall Horan posted the snap that was uploaded by Payne and said Twist was one of the nicest, kindest, hilarious and most generous people he ever met. Horan added Twist always smiled even if he was battling cancer. He concluded his post by telling Styles he loves him and asked Styles to give his mother and the rest of the Styles family a hug from the Horan family.
Louis Tomlinson also said he was devastated to hear about the death of Twist. He described Twist as a lovely, kind and funny. Tomlinson also lost his mother to cancer last year. Zayn Malik, who was with the band for five years before departing from the band in 2015, did not post any message for Styles and his family. It is unknown, however, if Malik reached out to Styles personally regarding his stepfather's death.

The hashtag “RIPRobin” trended on Twitter. Styles did not release any statement yet and has not posted anything about Twist’s death on his social media accounts. His mother also did not post anything about Twist's death as her latest photo with Twist was uploaded on their anniversary.
