Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman in the movie and life?
Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman, is much more than just her looks. One of the most astonishing facts is that she was five months pregnant during the reshoots of parts of the movie, and despite that, she was able to break down walls and twist and turn through the air in fight scenes, making it look easy. She also managed to act flawlessly in the action packed movie.
Patty Jenkins said, "there are so many things we asked her to do: now do it on one foot, now shout while you’re doing it. Now it’s raining in the freezing cold and you’ve lost your voice, go. Every day it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it" further adding, "she’s pregnant during part of the movie, in a suit out in a field in the freezing cold in others." As reported by Independent.
Her hard work did pay off and this did not go unnoticed.
Gal Gadot was born and brought up in Israel and at the age of 20, she served in the Army for two years as an enlisted soldier in the Israel Defence Forces as a combat trainer. This is a great achievement and when asked, she said, as reported by Glamour, "You give two or three years, and it's not about you.
You learn discipline and respect," which is reflected in her performance and discipline while shooting for the movie.
But, being from Israel and having served in the Israeli army has also caused some controversies. As reported by The Washington Post and National Review, Lebanon noticed this and banned the movie immediately. They refused to show the movie in their country due to her Israeli roots. No other Middle Eastern countries have imposed the ban, but due to their links with Lebanon, they could do so shortly. Despite the ban, the movie still managed to be in the top 10 for highest grossing films of 2017. Nevertheless, the rivalry between the countries is being taken to new heights as a result of "Wonder Woman."
