As the family of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" ages, more children are getting married. Joy-Anna Duggar surprised fans with a rushed marriage to Austin Forsyth after the two promised a fall wedding. Shortly before that, Jinger Duggar and her husband Jeremy Vuolo tied the knot after a whirlwind romance. And now, another member of the reality television family has wedding plans, but it's probably not the "Counting On" kid you think it is.
Jana Duggar 'Counting On' a white wedding?
Whenever fans of "19 Kids and Counting" hear rumors of a wedding, they hope it's Jana Duggar.
The eldest daughter of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar has been romantically linked to Tim Tebow, two brothers from "Bringing Up Bates" (Zach and Lawson Bates), and most recently Jonathan Hartono. Zach Bates is now married and Kathi Jo Bates denied any relationship between Jana and Lawson. Hartono said he and Miss Duggar are just friends. The wedding announcement didn't come from Jana and she continues to mother her siblings and their children.
Younger 'Counting On' kids getting married
The next in line for the altar is neither 27-year-old Jana nor her twin brother John David Duggar but one who's much farther down the line. Joseph Duggar, the seventh child of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar announced a fall wedding to his girlfriend Kendra Caldwell.
Joe is only 22 but not the youngest of the "19 Kids and Counting" to be married. Jinger Duggar Vuolo was only 20, and Joy-Anna Duggar was just 19 when she married Austin Forsyth on TLC's "Counting On" recently. Ben Seewald was 19 when he wed Jessa Duggar.
Joe Duggar 'Counting On' quick courtship?
The ultra-conservative Christian reality television family does relationships differently than most.
Instead of dating, the "Counting On" kids follow a period of no-touch courtship supervised by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. It's supposed to occur prior to engagement, prevent premarital sex and divorce, and prepare the couple for marriage. In the "19 Kids and Counting" family, however, courting ends up overlapping and even replacing engagement, and their courtships are quick.
Anna and Josh Duggar married quickly. Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo waited four months, Jessa Seewald waited three months, and Jill Dillard only two. The pregnancy reveals don't take long either.
Joseph Duggar's unorthodox proposal
It's popular these days for kids to think up unusual "promposals" (ways to ask each other to prom). Joe Duggar might have outdone all of them with his marriage proposal to Kendra Caldwell. Call it a "wedposal" because he popped the question at his sister Joy's wedding. Caldwell was a bridesmaid in the "Counting On" event on Reality TV. The happy couple says they'll wait until the fall, but Joy-Anna and Austin said that too, and didn't even make it to summer.
