Fans of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have nothing to worry about with their relationship as the former assured that all is well between them despite being mired in several breakup rumors for the past couple of months. In fact, the country singer could not help but share how his romance with the No Doubt vocalist is going from strength to strength after all these years.

'We're just content and happy!'

In an interview before the CMT Music Awards, Shelton admitted his partner has been feeling sad after "The Voice" concluded last month. When he was asked to be more personal, the male artist candidly said he and Stefani are "just content and happy" with how things are going in their relationship.

He even said that the feeling of having each other is just "incredible" despite being a regular subject of controversies.

Shelton also shared they usually hang out during their free time -- the kind of bond where they just sit back and relax, and enjoy a laid-back afternoon at home. More than having a partner and a lover, the "Came Here To Forget" crooner consider Stefani as his best friend.

How did romance bloom between Blake and Gwen?

It was two years ago when the two singers became an item. Shelton and Stefani were in the midst of their respective divorce with Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale when they were spotted leaving George Clooney's Halloween party together. Sources claimed the two were seen holding hands before they saw a photographer and separated.

In the same year, both parties confirmed dating rumors linking the two singers. Official statements released said Shelton and Stefani started out as friends before they decided to take a huge jump in their relationship. Luke Bryan, a close friend of the male singer, supported these claims and said that the couple is enjoying each other's company.

Since making their relationship public, Shelton and Stefani have made no effort to hide their coziness and sweetness. Similarly, the No Doubt singer previously opened up that her song, "Make Me Like You," was about her beau. The two made their romance red carpet official at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in 2016.

It was also revealed that Shelton wrote "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" for his girlfriend, stating that it is "as good of a song as I've ever written in [his] life." The male singer also thanked Stefani for saving him in the wake of his divorce with Miranda Lambert after four years of marriage.
