Angelina Jolie has revealed that she would do anything to have her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, by her side right now to help her get through her divorce with Brad Pitt.

The Actress partook in a revealing interview with Elle France, admitting that the past year has been rather difficult for her — aside from going through the divorce, raising six children by herself and finding herself to be single again are drastic adjustment factors.

The way she has felt in recent months has made her realize how much she misses her mother; the simple things of just having a conversation with Bertrand is something that Angelina Jolie simply can’t stop thinking about, especially since she always bragged about her mother is her best friend.

Distancing Herself From Hollywood

Angelina Jolie is known to stay away from the Hollywood scene when it comes to industry friends. It’s been rather hard to confide in people that she isn’t close with, so at times like these, the A-list star can’t help but wonder about all the things Marcheline Bertrand would have advised her to do in order to get through with the divorce.

Marcheline Bertrand passed away in 2007, at the young age of 56, after having dealt with a lifelong battle to beat ovarian cancer.Angelina Jolie tells Elle France, “‘I would give anything for her to be with me at this time. I’ve needed her. I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.”

It goes without saying that as Angelina Jolie’s kids continue to grow, the 41-year-old wants to parent her children the right way.

She credits her mother as to why she shares such a close bond with every single one of her kids, adding that Marcheline would have made a fantastic grandmother.

“She would have thrived as a grandmother. I know how much she would have contributed to their lives and I am sad they will miss out on that,” she explains. “‘I try to lead by example, being conscious of others and being responsible.

And to help them have a broader view of the world.”

Life After Divorcing Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie went on to discuss the ways in which she finds it best to raise her children, stressing that it’s important to have some sort of bond with a child. It’s important to resonate with the way a child feels, and most importantly, listen to their stories, their worries, and their pain.Communicating is the key to raising children, Angelina Jolie explains.

She can discipline her children all she wants but for the "Salt" actress, she’s more focused on being anything but disconnected with her kids.

She wants to reflect the same kind of relationship she had with her mother and pass it onto her kids. They should feel comfortable to tell her anything, confide in her about obstacles they may face, and even in time when they misbehave, communicating stands to be Angelina Jolie’s method of getting through to her kids.

According to reports, while Angelina Jolie is said to be on much better terms with Brad Pitt these days, she’s still pulling through with her divorce plans.

The twosome is said to be reaching an agreement that will give the former couple joint-custody of their six children.
