Amanda Bynes is looking forward to making a comeback after announcing her retirement from acting in 2012. The actress, who is known for her character in "What I Like About You," said more than acting, she is also interested in entering the fashion industry. In fact, her recent interview with Hollyscoop was her first on-screen appearance after she shied away from the spotlight.
Amanda and her controversial tweets
Despite her hiatus from acting, Amanda Bynes has remained controversial for her blunt tweets and social media posts. She even targeted Drake in her infamous "murder my vagina" Tweet back in 2013. The "One Dance" singer, on the other hand, frankly said he does not know the actress behind those "weird and disturbing" tweets.
"It’s obviously a behavioral pattern that is way bigger than me," he said in a previous interview. "Whoever is behind it, whether it’s her or somebody else, they know people are paying attention so they keep it going.”
When asked to explain her controversial tweet, Amanda Bynes admitted she was under the influence of drugs when she wrote that.
"I wasn't being insincere. I was being serious but I was also on drugs," she explained.
The former child star added it was her way of inviting the Canadian rapper for some down time. "I don't know. It just means, like, 'F--k me, Drake.'"
Sober for three years
Amanda Bynes' mother, Lynne, has previously said in an interview with E! News that her daughter's controversial posts were due to her marijuana consumption. In a recent interview, the "Easy A" star proudly revealed that she has been sober for three years now. The 31-year-old actress added that she is gearing up to make a comeback in the acting industry.
The controversial actress said she is personally interested in doing TV appearances or perhaps hosting her own show.
Before she decided to make her first public appearance, Amanda Bynes was spending time outside hiking, attended spinning classes, and even fed the less fortunate.
This is a huge leap for someone who was previously mired in several driving violations, which included a DUI case and alleged hit-and-run incidents, which led to the suspension of her driver's license. Amanda Bynes also received psychiatric treatment for her drug use.
The actress is currently enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, which is part of her plan to establish her own clothing line. Amanda Bynes admitted she looks up to Blac Chyna in terms of fashion style.
