We are less than two months away from KCON New York 2017, or #KCON17NY, and the lineup of K-pop acts is starting to fill out. Earlier, it was reported that CNBlue, Twice, GFriend, Highlight, and SF9 were performing, but now we can add two more K-pop acts to the list: UP10TION and KNK.

UP10TION and KNK were officially announced for KCON New York 2017 last Thursday, April 27, during a press release in Los Angeles.

It also released specific details about the upcoming event including the convention tripling in size in terms of number of booths, merchants, workshops, and panels.

One of the features that got a lot of attention is the Beauty Block. Initially introduced last year at KCON 2016 LA, the Beauty Block is a special section dedicated to Korean beauty products. According to reports, the Beauty Block was a hit among attendees.

As for the newly announced K-pop acts, they will make fine additions to the KCON 2017 New York lineup. Starting with UP10TION, they are a ten-member boy band consisting of Jinhoo, Kuhn, Kogyeol, Wei, Bitto, Wooshin, Sunyoul, Gyujin, Hwanhee, and Xiao formed under TOP Media back in 2015.

They made their debut back in September with their first extended play (EP) or mini-album titled Top Secret featuring title track song "So Dangerous."

Since then, UP10TION has grown in popularity with each subsequent K-pop comeback. Their latest comeback, a single album titled ID with a featured title track song of the same name, is their first Japanese-only album. It is also their most successful comeback to date selling over 159,000 copies in Japan alone.

As for KNK who is also known as Keunakeun or K-pop Knock, they are a five-member rookie boy band consisting of Youjin, Seungjun, Inseong, Jihun, and Heejun formed under YNB Entertainment. They made their debut showcase on February 29, 2016 and officially released their debut single album Knock on March 3, 2016.

KNK followed-up their debut with two more K-pop comebacks, two mini-albums titled Awake and Remain. Both albums sold over 12,000 copies each which is descent for a rookie K-pop boy band signed under a small Korean entertainment label. Even with that limitation working against them, KNK made such an impact that Billboard recognized them as one of the ten best new K-pop groups in 2016.

KCON 2017 New York will take place on June 23 and 24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey (which is almost on the border for New York City). Concert tickets will go on sale on May 12 while convention tickets will go on sale on May 19.
