Within hours of being eliminated from "Dancing With The Stars" on Monday night, gymnast Simone Biles and her partner Sasha Farber appeared on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday morning. She was very positive and said she enjoyed her experience on the ABC popular dance competition show because it helped her mature and find out a lot about herself.

Simone speaks out

Co-host Michael Strahan asked Simone how she felt when she heard her named called to be eliminated. She joked that she thought host Tom Bergeron had pulled a Steve Harvey. She was referring to the incident when Harvey announced the wrong winner for the Miss Universe pageant in 2015.

The 20-year-old gold medalist was upbeat and said that perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because she has been going nonstop since the Olympics. She concluded that she went out with a bang with two perfect scores for her jive and rumba.

Simone addressed the comment she made last week about smiling doesn't win you gold medals. She doesn't believe it hurt her in the long run. However, many people on social media said it was rude. They showed their disapproval by not voting for her last week.

During the interview, the five-time gold medalist said she believes people expected her to be like her teammate Laurie Hernandez who won last season's completion with Val Chmerkovskiy. She admitted that it was hard to follow in the footsteps of Laurie because each contestant is different.

By the way, Val might become a champion again this year if he and Normani Kordei win.

Reaction to the elimination

Fans of the show were shocked and couldn't believe how Simone was eliminated and David Ross got to stay and be in the finals next week. Those in the audience booed after the announcement. All four judges reacted to the shocking news.

Head judge Len Goodman covered his entire face with both hands because he couldn't believe it. Carrie Ann Inaba covered her mouth. Julianne Hough stood up, and Bruno Tonioli also displayed shock and disbelief.

Plans for the future

The athlete said she is looking forward to taking some time off. She is going on vacation and will spend time with family and friends.

Before all those take place, she said she will be back for the finale next week.

Farber's fiancée, Emma Slater, has bragging rights because she gets to dance in the finals with David Ross. So, she lasted on the show one week longer than Sasha.

Watch next week's finale to see who will get the Mirror Ball trophy. Will it be Rashad Jennings, Normani Kordei or David Ross?
