The streaming giant, Netflix, has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming season of “Orange is the New Black.”
The teaser trailer picks up from the cliff-hanger ending to the last episode of the fourth season. The series is in the headlines for almost one month when hackers stole its first nine episodes and unofficially uploaded on the internet. The group of hackers who stole the new episodes of “Orange is the New Black” threatened that it would out new shows of other studios too.
Netflix refused to comment anything in this regard, and continued developing the new seasons of “Orange is the New Black.” Now the shooting is wrapped, and the series is scheduled for June 9, 2017.
‘Orange is the New Black.'
It is a highly-anticipated comedy show developed by Tilted Productions and Jenji Kohan for Netflix. “Orange is the New Black” is partially financed by Lionsgate Television, inspired by a novel of the same name by Piper Kerman. Following the success of the first three seasons in July 2014, the streaming website ordered the fourth, fifth, sixth and seven seasons.
The first season garnered more than ten Primetime Emmy Awards, and several nominations. For the second season, the show received three Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
Critical response and ratings
The show received positive comments from television critics and audiences, with some of them admiring its depiction of sexuality, race, and gender. Metacritic has given it an average score of 76 out of 100 based on reviews from 34 people. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a 92% approval rating based on 104 critics.
A famous television critic, Hank Stuever, wrote in The Washington Post that the show is magnificent, especially the performances of Kate, Jason, Michael, and Danielle. Maureen Ryan from The Verge called it the best Netflix series of all time.
