Blake Shelton gave everyone an update on his girlfriend’s, Gwen Stefani, situation after her eardrum got ruptured on a flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas last week. This resulted for the No Doubt frontwoman to cancel her appearance at the 21st Keep Memory Alive Power of Love Gala.
She, then, will be replaced by Jennifer Hudson at the event. Meanwhile, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, her boyfriend talked about her way to recovery and she is now feeling a lot better.
Stefani on her way to recovery
“She’s getting better,” Shelton told the said publication during “The Voice” press celebration at the NBC Universal lot. He went on to explain that the recovery when someone pop-blow their eardrum out was quite slow, but the “Don’t Speak” hitmaker, fortunately, can now hear. The 40-year-old country singer then assured their fans that she will be fine and, in fact, will start singing on “The Voice.” He even added that she is one tough girl.
A message for the charity event
Moreover, Hudson will be replacing Stefani at the 21st Keep Memory Alive Power of Love Gala for what happened.
The singer-actress even shared a video of herself while getting ready to board her plane on Instagram.
According to one attendee (via AOL), Stefani recorded a short clip to apologize for being unable to join the event. "I am so sorry that I cannot attend tonight,” she said. She also sent her congratulatory message to her dear friend Andre Agassi and Ronald Pearlman.
The attendant narrated that people behind the charity event announced that they have a special message from Stefani as she can’t join them that night. The emcee confirmed that it was her doctors’ orders to cancel the event and take a rest. In the video, she can be seen very excited while talking about the works the organization does.
She continued saying nice words about the association and later apologized for not being able to be there at the event. At the end of the clip, she revealed that she has a “GRAMMY-winning surprise” for all and then introduced Hudson.
Rossdale didn’t arrive at sons’ Holy Communion
Meanwhile, two days later after the eardrum rupture occurred, Stefani was seen in high spirits as she attended her sons, Kingston (10) and Zuma Nesta Rock (8), first Holy Communion at St Brendan's Church in Los Angeles. But, their father Gavin Rossdale was not seen at the occasion as he might be preparing for his concert tour with Bush in the coming week. Their three-year-old son Apollo was also present that day and being cuddled by his mother’s arms.
