Walt Disney Animation Studios has now officially announced the release dates for several of its upcoming new films, including "Star Wars: Episode 9," "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2," the live-action "The Lion King" movie, "Frozen 2," and "Indiana Jones 5."

While the studio previously announced the release dates for some of the films mentioned above, some reshuffling has been done to prioritize particular properties.

Coming out next year

The highly-awaited sequel to 2012's video game-inspired "Wreck-It Ralph" is scheduled to be released on Nov.

21, 2018. This is months ahead of its previously announced March 2018 premiere. The sequel, titled "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2," will reportedly be taking place six years after the events of the original film and will see Ralph and his friends take on a new adventure on the internet after a Wi-Fi router is placed into the arcade.

The Nov. 21 release date was originally pegged for Disney's new "Jack and the Beanstalk" remake, titled "Gigantic." The movie has now been moved to a Nov. 2020, release date to make way for the "Wreck-It Ralph" sequel.

Potential blockbusters in 2019 and beyond

The upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic "Lion King" movie, which will be directed by "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau, is now revealed to arrive on July 19, 2019.

There isn't a lot of information yet about the movie, but reports have revealed that Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner are apparently already in talks to voice Timon and Pumba. The particular release date was also initially set for the fifth "Indiana Jones" movie, which has now been moved to a July 2020 release date.

One of the most anticipated animated film, "Frozen 2," has now been revealed to arrive over the Thanksgiving weekend in 2019.

The sequel to the 2013 blockbuster is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 27, 2019.

Other projects in the works

Disney also revealed several of its other projects that are already in the pipeline. "A Wrinkle in Time," a movie based on the 1963 fantasy novel by Madeleine L'Engle, is set to be released on March 9, 2018. The upcoming family comedy film "Magic Camp" will be released on April 6, 2018.

Disney also announced that it would be released two untitled animated films in 2021. One of the films will be made in partnership with Pixar and will be released on June 18, while the other film will be coming out on Nov. 24 on the same year.
