The second "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie comes out in two weeks and after that, the next time they appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will come in "Avengers: Infinity War." Chris Pratt, who portrays Starlord in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies has filmed much of his part for the third "Avengers" movie and seems excited about the team-up collaboration. While out promoting "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Pratt said that "Avengers: Infinity War" will deliver fans with exactly what they want.
What should fans expect from the next Avengers movie
When it comes to "Avengers: Infinity War," fans can expect a huge superhero team-up movie with a ton of characters battling an almost unstoppable Thanos. For fans who only know the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Thanos (Joss Brolin) is the character that appeared at the end of "The Avengers" in the post-credits and also in "Guardians of the Galaxy" as he dealt with Ronan. In the comics, Thanks was searching for the Infinity Stones to add to his Gauntlet, something that makes him almost unbeatable when he wears it with all the gems in place. It is appearing that Thanos will get the Infinity Stones heading into the movie and the war will begin.
What are the Infinity Gems?
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Infinity Stones have been shown in very different forms instead of just as gems. In "Captain America: The First Avenger," Red Skull used the Space Stone (Tesseract). The Mind Stone is the stone in The Vision's forehead head that Loki used to attack Earth in "The Avengers." The Reality Stone was the Aether from "Thor." The Power Stone was what Ronan stole in "Guardians of the Galaxy." The Time Stone is the Eye of Agamotto, which is owned by Doctor Strange.
The only Infinity Stone left to unveil is the Soul Stone, which is likely to be revealed in "Thor: Ragnarok."
Who will appear in "Infinity War"?
When Thanos collects all the Infinity Stones, it will be up to The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more heroes to stop him because his power will be almost unstoppable. Cast members from "Guardians 2" have said that the meeting with The Avengers will be fun since both groups think they are the alpha heroes.
Chris Pratt said in his interviews that everything he has seen so far is "really freaking cool" and fans will not be disappointed. Other heroes expected to appear outside of the Guardians and Avengers include the return of Nick Fury, Loki, Winter Soldier, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and more.
