James Cameron has announced the release dates for the sequels to "Avatar," the highest grossing movie of 2009. There were several delays about the release of the second installment of the movie, which has no official title yet. Release date schedule

On December 18, 2020, the second installment of "Avatar" will be released in theaters. A year later, on December 17, 2021, the third installment will be released.

After three years, the fourth movie sequel will be released on December 20, 2024. The fifth sequel will be released on December 19, 2025.

Multiple delays

The team previously set a date for "Avatar 2" but it was delayed. Originally, it was scheduled to be released in 2014. It was later moved to 2016, and finally in 2018. It is not surprising when Cameron made the announcement today that it will not happen until next year.
