Arnold Schwarzenegger says to expect another 'Terminator' movie

In 1984, James Cameron cast Arnold Schwarzenegger in a movie that made him one of the biggest stars in the world. That movie was "Terminator" and has enjoyed four sequels of varying success. In an interview with Fandango, Arnold said that the fact that Paramount is not interested in making any more Terminator movies, that does not mean the franchise has ended and he is willing to come back for more.

The 'Terminator' franchise

That first "Terminator" movie was an action horror movie where Arnold Schwarzenegger played a Terminator sent back in time to kill a woman who would become the mother to a resistance fighter who was winning a battle with robots and an AI that helped bring about armageddon and almost destroyed humanity. It was a great film that made Schwarzenegger a star and actually led to an even better sequel with Arnold's Terminator now a hero and protector of the boy. as "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" is considered one of the greatest action sci-fi movies of all time. However, James Cameron left after the second movie and a third movie fell short and killed the franchise temporarily.

The future of 'Terminator'

The studio tried to reboot the "Terminator" franchise twice. The first time, they started the entire film after armageddon and showed John Connor, the resistance leader, as he tried to beat the AI and robots. This was basically a prequel that took place in the future and would lead to the first movie. However, when "Terminator: Genisys" came out in 2015, it was the first sequel since "Terminator 2" that had a really interesting premise, as it introduced parallel worlds started when the past was changed and brought many past moments back to life in a different way. However, audiences in America were leery and didn't show up, causing the movie to flop and Paramount to cancel any future "Terminator" movies.

That won't last long. According to Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Cameron gets the rights to the "Terminator" franchise back in 2018 and there will be a movie made with Cameron as a producer, and possibly "Deadpool" director Tim Miller helming the film.
