Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had been the most in love couple during the start of their romance. In fact, the phrase “head over heels” was not enough to describe how they loved each other before.

A source even said to Entertainment Weekly that they were so “intoxicated” with one another and the chemistry they had was very evident. However, things changed and became more serious. The once happy couple filed for divorce and befell to be one of the nastiest splits in Hollywood history.

A longtime problem now showing

As Pitt and Jolie went on board for a flight from Nice to Los Angeles in September 2016, little did everyone knew that it would be the start of their separation.

This, too, was the same time the 53-year-old actor had a disagreement with his son Maddox that blew up into a big FBI investigation. His name was later cleared by the investigators.

The divorce of the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars was like no other. There were a lot of rumors and allegations all pointed to the actor-producer. It was reported that he was drinking heavily, got too close to his “Allied” co-star Marion Cotillard, too strict to their children, and a lot more.

As things between the ex-couple got worst, it just evidently showed the problem the two have been trying to conceal to the public. The insider also said that their relationship had been volatile for quite a while. The two would have a horrible fight and wouldn’t speak to each other for a bit.

They would take some time apart, go on a different place to calm themselves and ended up missing each other.

Pitt doesn’t want divorce

However, no matter how bad things were turning out for the A-list stars, Pitt has no intention to walk away from their marriage. The source continued that it was Jolie who would often threaten him with divorce.

Although their lives have been stressful because they were raising six children, the Plan B Entertainment owner believed that things will still work out for both of them.

Unfortunately, the tension between them got worst that resulted for the ex-husband of Jennifer Aniston not to see their kids. Since the 41-year-old filed for divorce, she was also asking for primary custody.

He, then, was temporarily granted with supervised visitation to see their children. This also meant that the former pair would never see each other again.

The end of public fight

Fortunately, as the New Year started, things got better between Pitt and Jolie. They had an agreement to seal any kind of court documents regarding custody. They, too, concurred to not spill anything to the public anymore about their divorce. To recall, when the actress-turned-humanitarian was promoting her new movie “First They Killed My Father” in Cambodia, she finally talked about her high-profile split with the “Troy” star.

"We are and forever will be a family. And so that is how I'm coping,” she told BBC. “I'm coping with finding a way through to make sure this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
