The executive producer Bryan Fuller says that several episodes of “American Gods” have been cut to help the story in the long run. Starz will premiere the show on April 30, 2017. The story revolves around Shadow Moon. He is sent to jail and given an unexpected early release after Laura’s murder. He misses his wife and decides to help cops in finding the murderer. A stranger, Wednesday, hires Shadow as his bodyguard. Wednesday is fond of collecting the old gods from different parts of the country.

Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, and Pablo Schreiber have been recruited to play the leading roles, while Ian McShane is the supporting character.

Post-production of “American Gods” has been finalized, and the series is being marketed. At the 2013 Cambridge International Student Film Festival, Gaiman confirmed that the series would focus on far better details than the novel.

In 2014, the show was abandoned due to script issues. Later on, Fremantle Media acquired the distribution rights and resolved the issues.
