Simone Biles has been wowing gymnastics fans for quite some time now and it seems clear that she will be wowing “Dancing With The Stars” viewers this spring throughout Season 24. Simone is partnering with dance pro Sasha Farber and they got off to a great start during Week 1. What do “DWTS” fans need to know about Biles?

Simone had a rough start in life, but she's persisted

As her NBC Olympics page notes, Simone Biles and her siblings lived in Ohio when they were young, but their biological mother was unable to care for them and Good Housekeeping details that they were put into foster care once it was determined that their mother couldn't care for them. Simone and her younger sister Adria moved to Texas and were raised by their maternal grandfather Ron and his wife Nellie, and the two later adopted the two girls. Simone and Adria's older siblings were raised by their great-aunt.

The Season 24 “Dancing with the Stars” contestant started doing gymnastics when she was six years old and a year later Simone started training with coach Aimee Boorman.

The two are still a team and Biles says that Boorman has been like a second mom to her since they've been working together since the gymnast was just 8.

The 20-year-old “DWTS” contender did have some hiccups along the way in her gymnastics but Biles blew everybody away at the P&G Championships when she was 16. She started winning numerous titles and models and she's put together quite the impressive streak of wins. Once Simone got to the Rio Olympics in 2016, she faced enormous expectations. She had stellar performances, winning the all-around gold as well as gold medals on the floor, balance beam, and vault, and she took fourth place in the uneven bars event.

Can Biles follow in her teammate's footsteps on 'DWTS'?

Biles' Olympics teammate Laurie Hernandez joined “Dancing With the Stars” last fall and won the mirror-ball trophy with Val Chmerkovskiy, and now Simone is angling to add a "DWTS" mirror-ball to her collection of medals. Simone and Sasha Farber topped the leaderboard after the premiere and during Week 2 they'll be doing the cha cha to the Jessie J and 2 Chainz song “Burnin' Up." “Team Golden Giggles” supporters have a feeling that this will be another stunning performance and it is clear that this duo is having a blast together.

This is Sasha's fourth “Dancing With the Stars” season as a pro and “DWTS” viewers wonder if this could be his time to shine and make it to the finale.

Farber finished fifth last fall with Terra Jole and he previously danced with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Kim Fields, finishing in eighth place in both of those outings. There certainly is some stiff competition this spring, but Simone and Sasha are definitely a team to watch.

Could Simone Biles and Sasha Farber take home the “DWTS” Season 24 mirror-ball trophy? “Team Golden Giggles” supporters will need to call 1-800-868-3412 to keep this “Dancing with the Stars” team in the competition and people are already envisioning what a killer freestyle these two could put together if they make it to the finale.
