While her former biggest rivals, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have stuck to their roots and maintained their music careers, Mandy Moore chose to broaden her options and found success in movies and television shows. "This Is Us" has made a huge impact on the "Tangled" star's acting career, but is the provocative ensemble drama too much for her to handle?
Mandy Moore was previously known as that sweet, young, blonde teenager who sang the 1999's "Candy" at 15 years old. Fast forward to 2017 and the "A Walk To Remember" star is now part of NBC's hit television series "This Is Us" with Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, and Chrissy Metz to name a few.
'This Is Us' had an emotional impact on Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore revealed the emotional roller-coaster that she went through while doing "This Is Us" in a recent interview. The 32-year-old singer, songwriter, and actress shared the impact that the NBC show had on her and noted that she feels lucky to be a part of the hit series.
"I think it has stirred up a lot for me, just thinking what’s been happening in my life and the progression of the last couple of months," Moore told Parade. "I feel like my world has been flipped upside down in the best way possible."
Mandy Moore gave up a singing career to be an actress?
Although there were a lot of heavy scenes in "This Is Us" that would be too much for other actors to handle, Mandy Moore felt that it was more than a blessing than a burden to be given this chance to act.
The star then went on to say that she feels more like an actress now even though she first launched her career as a pop star. Mandy is definitely not letting this opportunity pass since she wants to be known more than just her beautiful voice.
"This Is Us" Season 2 has already been officially picked up by NBC in September 2016 for 18 episodes. Early this year, the television broadcasting company also renewed the show's third installment for another 18 episodes. "This Is Us" season 2 air date has yet to be announced.
