What Natalie Portman, 35, didn’t say when she announced that she wasn’t able to attend the recent Academy Awards ceremony due to her pregnancy, was that she had already given birth, on February 22, to her daughter. The baby is the second child of Portman and her husband, Benjamin Millepied, who already have a five-year-old son, Aleph. The new arrival has been named Amalia Millepied and E!News has recently reported this. According to a report by People, her rep said that both mother and baby are doing well.
Natalie Portman and a private pregnancy
While other celebrities tend to document every step of their pregnancy, baby bump and all, on social media, Natalie tended to keep a low profile during her pregnancy and wasn’t heard to talk about it in public. She also, apparently, has no public social media accounts. She did, however, talk about the pregnancy when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November last year and she has been out and about, promoting her latest film “Jackie.” When talking with Jimmy Fallon, she commented that because of her small stature, she tends to “show” a lot faster, even when she has several months to go.

Natalie Portman was honored to be nominated but unable to attend
When she was unable to attend the Spirit Awards and the 2017 Oscars ceremony, she told E!News how honored she was to be included among her fellow nominees and she wished them all the most beautiful weekend.
Meanwhile, as we now know, she was already happily ensconced with her beautiful new baby daughter.
Natalie Portman wants to get back to work soon
Portman is married to choreographer Benjamin Millepied, who she met while working on the film “Black Swan.” She then became pregnant with the couple's son, Aleph, and they were married in 2012.
While they lived in Paris for a couple of years, they moved back to the U.S. and the couple is likely to raise the new baby in Los Angeles. As noted by People, Natalie is planning to get back to work as soon as she can after the arrival of her new Baby Girl.
