If you are a popular Hollywood couple, chances are that you will end up working together at some point. Strangely enough, it has taken John Krasinski and Emily Blunt longer than most would have liked or expected to appear in a film together. The jinx is finally broken with a new supernatural thriller that will see the couple take on some horrors on a farm.

Rumbling in the barn

“A Quiet Place” is a new horror film that is being produced by Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes (the house behind “The Purge” and “Ouija”). The film will star John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as a couple living on a farm, suddenly plagued by unexplained phenomena that unsettles their lives.

John Krainski will be writing and directing this film, following a successful run directing “Brief Conversations With Hideous Men” and a few episodes of NBC’s “The Office." Krasinski notably starred in “The Office” during its entire run, and was one of its most popular characters. His turn as Jim on the series propelled him into Hollywood after it concluded with nine solid seasons.

What to expect

Krasinski has never directed a Horror Film before, but that hasn’t stopped actors with comedic backgrounds from excelling in horror (most notably with Jordan Peele attaining critical and commercial success with his recent thriller “Get Out”). The studio backing this project has also had some recent success thanks to the prequel to the "Ouija" series.

Most importantly, the film will be resting on the performances of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and Krasinksi will be aware of that when penning the script. Both actors have put on some solid performances in the recent past, especially with Emily Blunt emerging as a versatile actor with successful turns in action and drama films.

The couple should most importantly have fun working together, and if Krasinski’s battles with Jimmy Kimmel are anything to go by, they shouldn’t have a problem with that at all. The film doesn't have a release date yet, but speculation says that it should be out by 2019.
