In an odd turn of events, Ed Hartwell is petitioning a Fulton County Superior Judge in an effort to get Joint Custody of the child that he shares with Keshia Knight Pulliam. This comes on the heels of a divorce filing, also made by Hartwell in July 2016 after only having been married to Keshia for a handful of months.

Ed Hartwell and Keshia Knight Pulliam's messy divorce

Ed Hartwell and Keshia Knight Pulliam were married just months after they started dating and their story is messy at best. Just months after getting married and announcing that she was pregnant with their first child together, Hartwell filed for divorce.

There are also some really heinous accusations that Ed Hartwell may have tried to cause Keshia Knight Pulliam to have a miscarriage and lose their daughter. To make matters even messier, Hartwell also accused Keshia of cheating on him and demanded a paternity test to prove that he was the father of their new baby girl, Ella Grace.

Due to the horrible nature of their breakup and Ed's previous reluctance to take responsibility of Ella Grace, Keshia Knight Pulliam has paperwork keeping the former football player away from her daughter but now Ed Hartwell is petitioning for joint custody and his ally in the case is just as shocking as some of the allegations against him.

Ed's former 'RHOA' star ex-wife takes his side

It turns out that former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Lisa Wu, who also happens to be Ed Hartwell's ex-wife has taken sides with the former NFL baller and is vouching for his parenting skills. Lisa recently wrote a letter to the judge where she gushes about Ed's relationship with their son EJ and claims that she never worris when their boy is in his care.

She even goes further to say that she doesn't doubt his ability to care for his daughter with Keshia Knight Pulliam either and hopes that he will be given a chance to get to know the little girl.

Lisa Wu was just one of 25 of Ed Hartwell's friends who have petitioned the court so that he might get joint custody of Ella Grace.

Other friends and family members of the former NFL player put their two cents in about what an influence and great family member Ed has been.

Now, after all of the paternity test and cheating drama is over, Ed Hartwell is even offering to pay whatever amount of child support is necessary. But here's the thing, he should be doing that anyway, whether he sees his child or not. For now, there is a 120-day status conference to check in with both Hartwell and Keshia Knight Pulliam to see where they stand and determine if the custody arrangement should be changed.
