Angelina Jolie has been known as a tattoo enthusiast. But, it was not revealed that she has an ink tattoo dedicated to her now estranged husband, Brad Pitt until recently. In fact, the 53-year-old actor also has his own symbolism for his former wife from before they decided to split.

Their snaps showed the 41-year-old actress getting inked by a former Thai monk. The famed tattoo artist of the stars, Ajarn Noo Kanpai, dashed from Bangkok to Siem Reap in Cambodia in February 2016 to give the stars a traditional tattoo.

Ex-couple’s so-called symbolic tattoos

Angelina Jolie was filming at that time in Cambodia for the Netflix original, “First They Killed my Father.” She was with Brad Pitt when the ex-monk was applying the mystical ink. It was embedded on her skin using steel rods mounted with a surgical steel needle. It has been said that it resulted in a superb result compared to tattoo guns, but it was much more painful to endure.

The humanitarian has three Sak Yant Tattoos on her back while her producer ex-husband has the Buddhist symbol on his stomach. The former couple’s tattoos were said to “symbolically bind them as husband and wife,” but it might be ineffective. To recall -- the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars called off their marriage and announced their divorce in September 2016.

The two designs were intended to make their bond strong "but their marriage fell apart just months later."

Angelina didn’t learn her lessons

This was not the first time that Angelina Jolie got a tattoo for her spouse. Bear in mind that she also had an inked tattoo dedicated to her second husband Billy Bob Thornton. She was once displaying an Asian dragon with the name of the singer-songwriter on her arm that she had later removed.

"I'll never be stupid enough to have a man's name tattooed on me again,” she previously said (via Life & Style). As luck would have it, the 61-year-old musician’s moniker has been replaced with the geographical coordinates of Brad Pitt’s birthplace. Hence, fans are now thinking she will also have it erased, although it is not exactly his forename.
