If there is a movie that Johnny Depp has turned into an epic saga, it would have to be the "Pirates of the Caribbean." This is going to be the fifth installment in a series of movies that has experienced plenty ofhighs and lows but continues to bring people into theaters all over the world. In this article, we are going to be talking about the plot, the characters, and what can be expected of the movie in general.
The cast
We are going to see a return from main man Johnny Depp as jack sparrow, who is without a doubt the poster boy for the movie series and the great Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa.
Other actors like Javier Barden as Salazar are going to be important in this plot, and we will see Orlando Bloom return as Will Turner after his absence on Stranger Tides.
Other actors and actresses in this film include Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smith, Brenton Thwaites as Henry. Keith Richards as Captain Edwards, Stephen Graham as Scrum, and Kevin McNally as Joshamee Gibbs.
The plot
This plot revolves around Jack Sparrow’s pursuit of Captain Salazar, who has managed to escape from the Devil’s Triangle and is now on the hunt for every single pirate that travels the seas. The problem is that Salazar has an army of ghost pirates helping him in his bloodthirsty quest and the only way for Jack Sparrow to defeat him is to find the trident of Poseidon in order to be able to have total control over the seas.
This would give him the required advantage to defeat Salazar and his army of undead pirates.
What can you expect
The filmmakers are saying that they want to include epic battles, but the movie should also focus strongly on dialogue, and this is one of the things that seemed to be lacking in the last couple of films and the audiences are expecting to have the magic of that first film captured once again.
Disney’s concerns
The biggest issue with this series of movies is that Disney was questioning the bankability that the leading actor offers since his terrible 190 million dollar loss with The Lone Ranger. The studio was concerned about the actor not being able to bring in the same numbers as he used to, but "Pirates of the Caribbean" is a different story, and hopefully it will prove that it continues to bring people to the theaters.
Conclusion
Perhaps The "Pirates of the Caribbean" could be losing too much steam for some critical audiences, but the general opinion for the movies is that they make perfect entertainment for the whole family and this has made them very popular for a wide audience of all ages.
The film was green-lighted for production back in 2014, and the filming is finished with production also pretty much done according to sources. The film is scheduled for release by July 2017, and it will hopefully bring this saga back to its roots.
