The latest buzz around this project is regarding the inclusion of Bollywood heroine Vidya Balan in the star cast.

Pa Ranjith has reportedly narrated the complete script of the movie to Vidya, and the actress is very much impressed with her role. She is now working on her dates, and after that, an official agreement will be signed.
Many Kollywood sources believe that this much-awaited movie will be a sequel to "Kabali", but close sources to the project have made it clear that this film will handle a fresh script.
Dhanush, the National Award winning actor and Dhanush's son-in-law is producing this movie under the banner of Wunderbar films. In a recent talk with the Press, Dhanush told that he is quite proud to bankroll a Rajinikanth film.
Vidya Balan's controversial rejection of "Aamy"
Earlier, acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Kamal has announced a project named "Aamy" which revolves around the real-life story of writer Madhavikutty. During the announcement of the project, Kamal revealed that Vidya Balan would play the title character. Later, Vidya Balan walked out of the project due to unknown reasons, but many people claimed that the actress made this move as Kamal has made some controversial remarks on Saffron politics.
