Titled "Heavy Lies the Crown," the show's next episode will see the leaders deal with a new challenge. As doomsday inches closer, tough decisions must be made for the good of everyone. The burden of leading weighs heavily upon Bellamy and Clark when different difficulties force them to determine who will live and die. “Heavy Lies the Crown” was written by Justine Juel Gillmer, who also brought us the tense and terrifying, yet comfortingly delinquent-centric "Demons." This episode is similarly upsetting, but below the drama, the fulcrum is still on the core character dynamics.
The summary of the first episode
Wednesday's season premiere picked up with Clarke and her friends planning for their future as a group. Clarke spent most of the time thinking about how she should deliver the bad news to her people before finally deciding to go with a town hall-style announcement.
The Ice Nation took over Polis, while Roan (Zach McGowan) officially made Skaikru the 13th clan. Later in the episode, two unknown characters in the desert disintegrated, reinforcing the idea that the nuclear apocalypse is indeed a major problem and that the survivors need to act fast. Now that Clarke and Bellamy are co-leaders, Taylor recently teased that she personally likes the new dynamic between them.
Rumors and Spoilers of the second episode
“Heavy Lies the Crown” introduces several new characters. In this new episode, we meet Ilian, a new character played by the Australian actor Chai Romruen. There is also the first appearance of Ben Sullivan, who plays Riley. Meantime in Polis, the Ambassador Skaikru remains fully convinced he can save the world through diplomacy.
In the next episode, new clan appears, with their leader that represents a real threat. Meanwhile, Octavia committed to protecting and keeping Roan safe, taking litterally the indications of Bellamy, perhaps even too seriously, and an edge of sincerity reveals itself in a suggesting exchange with newcomer Ilian.
The second episode of "The100" airs Wednesday, February 8 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
